What is Seekology?
Seekology at River’s Edge Park promotes exploration and discovery, builds awareness of local ecology and encourages early literacy learning inside River’s Edge Park. From critters to currents, pollinators to pawprints, leaves to levees and more, these diverse habitats are like nowhere else in the world. People of all ages can deepen their appreciation and connection to the natural environment while immersing themselves into the fascinating ecosystem and habitats that surround them.
How does it work?
QR codes are scattered throughout River’s Edge Park. Use a smart device with an internet connection to scan clues to reveal amazing facts about the area’s ecosystems and the fascinating creatures that inhabit them. Some may have quick facts and others tell a larger story. Explore the park to find more seeker codes, or use the provided map on the homepage. Make sure your GPS location services are turned on.
Learn while you play!
Play is one of the most important and widely researched tools when it comes to childhood development, including building early literacy skills. Through Seekology, children have the opportunity to learn about local ecology while also improving their communication and reading skills in a fun and educational way.
